The Heritage Collection of the House of Commons contains
over 500 individual prints and drawings. The most important elements of
this collection are preliminary studies that provide invaluable documentation
on many of the paintings and architectural decorative features in the
House of Commons.
In the 1990s, the Curatorial Services division of the House of Commons was privileged to acquire the papers and drawings of R. Eleanor Milne, Dominion Sculptress (1962-1993), which related to the different projects in which she was involved during her thirty-year term on Parliament Hill. Her collection of drawings contains approximately 400 items — watercolours, pastels, pencil drawings and ink studies — concerning the architectural sculpture series and stained glass windows.
