Education: Teacher's Certificate, Moncton Technical Institute.

Profession: Educator and Businessman.

Parliamentary Service: First elected to the House of Commons on September 4, 1984 representing the New Brunswick riding of Westmorland-Kent. He was appointed Critic for Tourism, and later Associate Critic for Transportation. After being re-elected in November, 1988, Mr. Robichaud was Critic for Fisheries and Oceans, and later Assistant to the Opposition House Leader (responsible for question period). He resigned his seat on September 24, 1990. For the next three years, he served as Special Assistant to the then Leader of the Official Opposition, the Honourable Jean Chrétien.

He was re-elected to the House of Commons on October 25, 1993, representing the riding of Beauséjour, and was named Secretary of State for Parliamentary Affairs. On September 15, 1994, he was appointed Secretary of State for Agriculture and Agri-Food, Fisheries and Oceans.

Mr. Robichaud retired from the House of Commons in April 1997.
On September 23, 1997 he was appointed Senator. He was then appointed Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate on January 26, 2001.
