Eco-Friendly Tips
If everyone does a little bit it can amount to a lot! By implementing some of the following tips, you can reduce your ecological footprint on the planet by decreasing the amount of energy and resources that you consume.
Waste Reduction Week Tips
- Purchase items that contain recycled content.
- Bring your lunch in reusable containers.
- Do on-line document editing rather than printing a draft.
- Enable double-sided printing on your computer.
- Create and use note pads from once-used paper.
- Reuse your office material such as binders and file folders.
- Purchase durable products that can be repaired and reused.
- Send your ink cartridges back to the supplier for reuse.
- Reuse any office material you may have by taking it to the One Stop Shops located in your building.
- Use the recycling centers located on your floor or in the nearest kitchen or freight area.
- Recycle your CDs/DVDs, diskettes and VHS tapes.
- Turn off your office lights before leaving at the end of the day.
- Report any leaks or repairs needed in the Parliamentary Precinct washrooms by calling the proper authorities in your institutions
- Dispose of your paper towels in the appropriate containers located in every washroom in the Parliamentary Precinct.
- Send your used batteries to the One Stop Shops located in your building to be disposed of safely.
