The Sub-Committee on National Security of the Standing Committee of Justice and Human Rights met at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Marlene Jennings, Derek Lee, Lynn Myers, Geoff Regan, Kevin Sorenson, Vic Toews and Bryon Wilfert.

Other Member present: Larry Bagnall.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Phil Rosen, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Motion of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights (Tuesday, October 16, 2001), the Sub-Committee commenced consideration of its mandate.

On motion of Lynn Myers, it was agreed, -- That Bryon Wilfert be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Vic Toews, it was agreed, -- That Kevin Sorenson be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Lynn Myers, it was agreed, -- That the Sub-Committee hold informal briefings on November 26 and December 10, 2001 and that these briefings be held in camera.

On motion of Lynn Myers, it was agreed, -- That the Sub-Committee adjoun.

At 11:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
