Honourable members, I see a quorum.
In accordance with Standing Order 106(1), your first item of business is to elect a chair. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.
Mr. Pacetti.
Mr. Massimo Pacetti (Saint-Léonard—Saint-Michel, Lib.):
I propose Brian Pallister for chairperson.
The Clerk:
Are there any other nominations?
It is proposed by Massimo Pacetti that Brian Pallister be elected chair of this committee. Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?

I declare Brian Pallister duly elected chair of this committee.
Prior to Mr. Pallister assuming the chair, we will proceed to the election of the two vice-chairs. The first vice-chair is a member of the official opposition. I am now ready to receive motions to that effect.
