The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 308 West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Carole-Marie Allard, Paul Bonwick, Sarmite Bulte, Liza Frulla, Christiane Gagnon, John Harvard, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Alex Shepherd and Chuck Strahl.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sam Banks, Analyst; Monique Hébert, Analyst; Joseph Jackson, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 39(5)(b), the Committee commenced consideration of the failure of the Ministry to respond to written question No. 236 on the Order Paper, referred to the Committee on September 15, 2003 and which read as follows: Q-236 — Mr. Reynolds (West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast) — Pertaining to the Francophonie Day that took place Thursday, March 20, 2003, what was the breakdown of the money spent by the government for the activities that took place in Canada in dollar figures?
 
The Chair made a statement relating to Q-236 on the Order Paper.
 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake the statutory review of the Copyright Act, pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, November 5, 2002, and Section 92 of the Copyright Act.

 

At 12:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
