The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met jointly in an in camera session with the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, Walt Lastewka, Chair of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Techonology and Clifford Lincoln, Chair of Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Carole-Marie Allard, Paul Bonwick, Liza Frulla, Loyola Hearn, Clifford Lincoln, Alex Shepherd and Chuck Strahl.

Acting Member present: Benoit Sauvageau for Christiane Gagnon.

Members of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Techonology present:  Walt Lastewka, Larry Bagnell, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, Andy Savoy, Brent St. Denis, Joseph Volpe, Brian Fitzpatrick, James Rajotte and Paul Crête.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sam Banks, Joseph Jackson, Terrence Thomas, Lalita Acharya, Geoffrey P. Kieley and Dan Shaw, research officers.  Consultant:  David Black.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced joint consideration with the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Techonology of Foreign Investment Restrictions Applicable to Telecommunications Common Carriers.

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
