The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera
at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, John Williams,
presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, John Bryden, Odina
Desrochers, John Finlay, Paul Forseth, Mac Harb, Pat Martin, Philip Mayfield,
Shawn Murphy, Beth Phinney, Alex Shepherd and John Williams.
Acting Member present: Val Meredith for Rahim Jaffer.
Associate Member present: Val Meredith.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library
of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee commenced consideration
of a draft report on Chapter 7 (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency -
International Tax Administration: Non-Residents Subject to Canadian Income Tax)
of the December 2001 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
It was agreed, - That the Committee adopt the Report as the TWENTY-THIRD
REPORT of the Committee.
It was agreed, - That pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request
that the Government provide a comprehensive response to this Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and
editorial changes to the Report as may be necessary without changing the
substance of the Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair Table the TWENTY-THIRD REPORT to the House.
It was agreed, - That a Press Release be issued.

Changing the System) and Chapter 3 (Recruitment for Canada's Future Public
Service: Changing the Practices) of the December 2001 Report of the Auditor
General of Canada.

REPORT of the Committee.
It was agreed, - That pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request
