The Standing Committee on Transport and Government
Operations met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the
Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Cannis, Bev Desjarlais, André
Harvey, Ovid Jackson, Mario Laframboise, Ghislain Lebel, James Moore, Marcel
Proulx, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John
Christopher, Research Officer.
Witness: From the City of Ottawa: Madeleine Meilleur,
Councillor, Rideau-Vanier Ward, Chair - Transportation and Transit Committee.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on
Truckers Hours of Service, safety concerns and transborder/border crossing
issues, and their impact on the Canadian trucking industry.
The witness made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:38 a.m., the sitting resumed.
The Committee proceeded to sit, in camera, to consider Future
Business.
At 11:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
