The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Gary Pillitteri and Paul Szabo.

Acting Member present: Antoine Dubé for Richard Marceau.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Blayne Haggart, Researcher; Marion Wrobel, Senior Analyst.

Witnesses: From the Department of Finance: Gérard Lalonde, Senior Chief, Tax Legislation Division, Tax Policy Branch; Bob Morrison, Senior Tax Policy Officer, Tax Policy Branch, Business Income Tax Division, Economic Development.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-213, An Act to promote shipbuilding, 1999 (See Minutes of Proceedings, Wednesday, May 31, 2000, Meeting No. 74).

Mr. Lalonde made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 5:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
