The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:08 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Roy Cullen, Robert Marceau, Gary Pillitteri, Karen Redman and Paul Szabo.

Acting Member present: Paul Forseth for Ken Epp.

Witnesses: From WEFA Canada Inc.: Dale Orr, Economist. From the Canadian Teachers' Federation: John Staple, Director, Economic Services. From the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations: Ryan Dunford, Government Relations Coordinator. From the Human Resources Development Canada: Katalin Deczky, Director, Canada Student Loans Plan.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-32, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 28, 2000 (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, May 9, 2000 , Meeting No. 55).
