The Senate plays a unique role in Canada. Senators examine legislation, champion causes, study public policy, and represent Canada internationally. Behind the scenes is an infrastructure of professional and dedicated employees. Each person, in each role — be it direct or indirect — supports senators in their work. Each contributes daily by delivering timely and professional advice, products, information and services. The people of the Senate unite through shared common values and ethics, creating the best possible work environment for all.
The Senate of Canada is committed to having a skilled, diversified workforce reflective of Canadian society, and to the equitable representation of women, aboriginal peoples, persons with a disability and members of a visible minority group. We encourage members of these designated groups to self-identify.
