On the Road: Connecting with Canadians via Twitter
Travelling to various regions of the country provided senators with first-hand perspectives on regional energy issues, complementing the knowledge gained during Ottawa-based hearings. Thanks to a Twitter pilot project, the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources (ENEV) was the first parliamentary committee to provide citizens with up-to-the-minute highlights of whom the committee was hearing from during public hearings and what the committee was observing and learning during fact-finding activities.
