Randall Maggs is a Professor of Literature at Memorial, a poet, editor of poetry and Artistic Director of the March Hare. His recent work has appeared in Poetry Ireland Review (2006) and The March Hare Anthology (Breakwater, 2007). A new collection, entitled Night Work: The Sawchuk Poems, will be brought out by Brick Books and launched early in 2008 at the Hockey Hall of Fame. As well, he has co-edited However Blow the Winds, an anthology of Irish and Newfoundland & Labrador poetry (WIT & Scop, 2004) and is at working on The Echoing Years, an anthology of Irish and Canadian poetry, which will appear in 2007. In his work, he maintains a close connection with Ireland and in the Spring of 2007 was awarded a Coracle Fellowship to continue his work in that country. A woodworker and turner, he took part in the 2001 Ireland/Newfoundland exhibition, Wood: A Sculptual Investigation. Amongst his major pieces is the Black Rod used in Canadian Senate Ceremonies.
