Predicting the Issues for Question Period
Objective: Students will learn how to predict issues for Oral Questions (Question Period).
Materials Required: Activity Sheet 19 - Predicting the Issues for Question Period

Pre-record a session of Question Period. If you are not
able to videotape the session, a transcript of each day's
Question Period is available from House of Commons
Broadcasting at (613) 995-1318.

Collect newspapers for the day before, the day of and the
day after the session of Question Period that you
taped.

Use the issues in the newspaper from the day before and the
day of to make predictions and the issues in the newspaper
the day after to follow up on the predictions.

Divide students into groups of four or five.
-
Have copies of the fact sheet on Oral Questions available
for reference.
- Follow up with Activity 20.
