Significant Dates
  • Construction of the Memorial Chamber began in 1923. The altar was installed in 1926, followed by the windows a year later.
  • The Prince of Wales made the official dedication in 1927. The Chamber opened to the public on Remembrance Day the following year.
  • The First World War Book of Remembrance was added in November 1942.
