Four kneeling angels and a ribbon encircling a laurel branch ornament the display case with the following biblical inscription: TAKE UNTO YOU THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD THAT YE MAY BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND IN THE EVIL DAY AND HAVING DONE ALL TO STAND. (Ephesians 6:13)

To accompany this verse, tiny enamel shields with Latin inscriptions illustrate the emblems of the full armour of God as stated in Ephesians 6:14-17:

  • Veritas : Stand therefore, having loins girt about the truth,
  • Justitia : and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
  • Pax : and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
  • Fides : above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked,
  • Salus : and take the helmet of salvation,
  • Spiritus : and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
